Distribution of Relief
On October 29, 2024, relief distributions to targeted people began in the yards of the Agricultural Bank, south of the main market in the locality of "Garsila" in Central Darfur State. The distribution process began with IDPs and continued normally until it was completed at midday and was distributed to the nomadic community. At 4 p.m., the distribution to the newly displaced and the host community within the city began.
Shooting and Chaos
By 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, shooting at the aid distribution field was reported, but it did not last long, with about (6) shots fired. Motorcycles were then observed carrying gunmen dressed in RSF uniforms, carrying boxes of biscuits. The situation in the distribution area remained tense until 6:00 p.m.
Relief Looting
Gunmen began looting rice sacks and boxes of "nutrition biscuits", while many citizens were waiting in line to receive their share of relief. The militants were lifting relief on their cars and motorcycles in the presence of RSF which claim to protect the humanitarian convoy. The looting continued until 7:00 p.m. Heavy movement of cars and small transport vehicles (Toktok) was then observed inside the market, where relief items were unloaded in some warehouses.
