April 2025 did not witness significant political developments, but the security situation remained tense across several Sudanese states. The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) conducted drone attacks targeting multiple sites in the Northern State, the Nile River State, and Khartoum. RSF attacks on El Fasher city and Zamzam camp also persisted, resulting in multiple civilian casualties.
Tribal conflict was recorded in Sennar State, which is under the control of the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF), including a dispute between the Bani Badr and Bani Fadl tribes—two components of Al-Hamr tribe in Al-Nuhud locality. Local authorities launched a reconciliation initiative that culminated in a charter signed by the native administration. In East Darfur State, the RSF-affiliated federal police announced the opening of recruitment for new personnel.
Below is the April 2025 report compiled by the Youth Citizens Observers Network (YCON) relying on primary and secondary data gathered by its local observers distributed across all states of Sudan, it reflects on social, economic and political implication of war, in addition to asylum and displacement movements, and the condition of the displaced and refugees in camps, from March 27 to April 26, 2025, in addition to our recommendations (we youth) to help resolve the Sudanese crisis.
