February witnessed significant political developments that will have a lasting impact on Sudan›s political landscape. The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) and several political factions, including the Northern People›s Movement led by Abdulaziz Al-Hilu, signed a political charter in Nairobi, Kenya. Meanwhile, the Sudanese government introduced an amended constitutional document for 2025. These shifts are expected to intensify the ongoing struggle for legitimacy in the country. Additionally, the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) made notable advances in Khartoum and North Kordofan, lifting the siege on El-Obeid from the eastern side and securing the road linking Kadugli and Dilling in South Kordofan. These political developments highlight the ongoing power struggle between the warring factions.
Below is the February 2025 Report compiled by the Youth Citizens Observers Network (YCON) relying on primary and secondary data gathered by its local observers distributed across all states of Sudan, it reflects on social, economic and political implication of war, in addition to asylum and displacement movements, and the condition of the displaced and refugees in camps, from January 27, 2025 to February 26, 2025, in addition to our recommendations (we youth) to help resolve the Sudanese crisis.
