Since the beginning of the April 15, 2023 war in Sudan, violations against civilians have not stopped. These violations include killings that have resulted in thousands of civilian casualties in various villages and cities in Sudan. The most recent of these violations is what was committed by the Rapid Support Forces on Wednesday, June 5, 2024, in "Wad Al-Noura" village. This is a flagrant violation of the rules of international humanitarian law and other obligations to be observed during war and the criminal responsibility of the RSF, represented by its soldiers and commanders.
The RSF launched an attack on "Wad Al-Noura" village in 24 Al-Qurashi locality, El Jazirah State, killing dozens of civilians and wounding a number of villagers. This crime is not the first of its kind since the RSF took control of parts of El Jazirah State in December 2023, and we, in Youth Citizens Observers Network, have documented similar incidents against civilians, all of which are violations of the laws of war.
