On October 18, 2024, "Um Shawka" city was attacked by an RSF group consisting of people from the villages of: Zainoba, Jakka, Amara, and Wad Dawood, near to the city of "Um Shuka", most of whom are from "Al-Eregat", a clan of "Rizeigat" tribe. It is believed that the aim of the attack was to loot the city, but it was repelled by the youths of "Um Shawka" city, who also affiliated with RSF. The attacking force withdrew, but returned in larger numbers, and exterminated the area on an ethnic basis. According to sources, the attacks continued from Friday until Tuesday (18-22 October 2024), while RSF artillery placed in "Jaka" village shelled "Um Shuka " last Tuesday.
