
Last August, the facilitators of ‘Geneva Talks’ were able to obtain guarantees from the warring parties in Sudan (SAF and RSF), separately, to open two safe corridors for the unhindered passage of humanitarian aid to those in need. The first route is “Adre” crossing on the Chadian border in western Sudan, and the other is the northern entrance to the country through the city of “Dabba” in the northern state. Both parties pledged to facilitate the unfettered distribution of aid to civilians. However, it is noticeable that the agreement did not include any mechanisms to monitor the extent of the commitment of the warring parties, which represents a weakness in the agreement.
